Memphis Author Daniel Connolly will join St. George’s for Food & Formation on Sunday, February 12 to talk about his book, The Book of Isaias: A Child of Hispanic Immigrants Seeks His Own America. Connolly’s book follows the story of Isaias Ramos, a graduate of Memphis’ Kingsbury High School, and his struggle to make decisions about education as a Mexican immigrant brought to this country as a child by his parents. Connolly’s book tackles not only questions about immigration, but also poverty, schools in underserved neighborhoods, academic motivation, and defying odds. Brunch available., $5 donation.
