As Canon to the Ordinary, Canon Sharon assists Bishop Phoebe with implementing and supporting the vision of the Diocese. Her responsibilities for the Diocese include working with clergy and congregations in clergy leadership transitions, overseeing the ordination process, development and updating of policies and procedures including Safeguarding policies, clergy discipline (Title IV), congregational development and vitality, and governance matters for the Diocese and congregations.

Canon Sharon has served in a variety of leadership positions in The Episcopal Church, including Chair of the Standing Commission on Structure, Governance, Constitution and Canons. She has been involved for more than 20 years with Amistad Mission, a Nashville-based ministry that supports an orphanage and family counseling center in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
