Exploring the 11th Step and Your Higher Power

March 28 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm CDT

What is the shape of your Higher Power?
Exploring the 11th Step and Your Higher Power
Eleventh Step Retreat
Saturday, March 28, 8:30 a.m. – Noon
Barth House Episcopal Center
409 S. Patterson St.

Join us for a gentle, reflective half‑day retreat where we will explore with each other the experience of the 11th Step: “Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood God.”

Through quiet space, guided meditation, personal reflection, and simple spiritual practices, we’ll explore what it means to connect with a Higher Power that is loving, trustworthy, and personal to each one of us. This retreat isn’t about defining a specific God—but about discovering how the presence of Spirit has already been shaping our recovery and our lives.

Participants will be invited into:

  • Creative practices for naming or reimagining their Higher Power
  • A guided meditation on the God who knows and loves each of us
  • A gentle look at moments of grace along our own recovery journeys
  • Honest conversation about conscious contact, hope, and spiritual growth
  • A simple closing ritual to carry peace and clarity into daily life

The tone of the day is spacious, welcoming, and grounded in personal experience rather than doctrine. Whether you’re new to recovery, have been here for years, spiritually curious or simply longing for a deeper sense of connection, this retreat offers a chance to breathe, listen, and be held by each other and a Presence greater than ourselves.

Come as you are. Leave with a clearer sense of the God of your understanding—and the simple prayer your heart most needs right now.
