The Rev. Dr. Dorothy A. White is the fourth of five children born to Oscar and Dorothy White of Knoxville, Tennessee.  After years of service at First Mount Zion Baptist in Dumfries, Dorothy moved to Richmond in 2001 to earn a Doctor of Ministry degree at the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.  She graduated in 2005. 

While employed by St. Catherine’s Episcopal School in Richmond, Dorothy was ordained to the priesthood in 2015. She served at historic St. John’s Church, as well as other area churches from 2019 through 2022.   

In July 2022, Dorothy relocated to Minneapolis to serve as the Interim Chaplain and Religion Department Chair at Breck School in Golden Valley.  Upon the completion of her service at Breck, Dorothy came to serve as interim rector at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Germantown, Tennessee.  Upon completion of her service, Dorothy now serves as Campus Missioner for the Diocese.
